Submit a claim you if feel that your vehicle sustained damage on the Northwest Territories public highway system.

Note: Submitting a claim does not guarantee that you will necessarily receive compensation. Your claim will be thoroughly reviewed and a response will typically be provided within several weeks.

File a claim

1. Send an email to risk_fin@gov.nt.ca with the following information:
   
   • Date
   • Time
   • Location
   • Estimate of damage
   • Description of the incident
   • Witness information
   • Your name and address
   • Phone number
   • Photos (optional)
     
2. You may also wish to consider reporting your claim to your own insurer, who may have a contractual obligation to repair your damage right away. Your insurer can then seek reimbursement from the GNWT on your behalf.
